On February 26, the Coal Ministry has offered three captive coal mines viz., Jhirki & Jhirki-West (Jharkhand), Andal Babuisol (West Bengal) and Tokisud-II (Jharkhand) through auction to steel, sponge iron and cement industries. So far, around 40 steel, sponge iron and cement companies have purchased the bid documents. On 27th May, on behalf of the Coal Ministry, the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute will hold a pre-bid meeting at Ranchi in Jharkhand.
