Kobelco to double output in India
Kobelco Construction Equipment India plans to double its production capacity to nearly 4,000 units per annum from the current 2,000 units in the next 2-3 years, according to the company. The expansion plan is to effectively serve the growing demand for construction equipment from the infrastructure sector.
For excavators, which forms the major share of their business, the capacity was increased to 160 units a month from 120 units a month three months ago and will touch nearly 200 units a month in the next six months. Kobelco has a manufacturing facility at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh where it had invested Rs 170 crore.
