New road projects for Arunachal announced
The Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari announced four new state highways namely Akajan-Likabali-Bame (119 km), Margherita- Changlang (44 km), Paka Gongo-Gogamukh along the left bank of the River Subansiri(125 km) and Tezu to Chapakhowa via Sunpura (20 Km) as national highway. He also informed the sanction of fund for the remaining stretch of Itanagar-Banderdewa four-lane project. Tender process for the first phase of four-lane project from Itanagar to Naharlagun has been put in motion and work will start by March 2017.
Addressing a meeting in the state, Gadkari also assured to fund east-west industrial corridor and frontier highway. Earlier, Gadkari dedicated two-lane Papu-Yupia-Potin section of Trans Arunachal Highway and Hollongi-Itanagar four-lane to the nation.
