Schwing Stetter will launch 20 new products at Excon
At Excon 2011, Schwing Stetter will launch 20 new products, targeting everyone from small customers to large corporate across various segments. You can expect us to demonstrate the next level of mechanisation of concreting," says Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter, in a chat with Equipment India. What is the present status of the construction equipment, with special focus on concrete equipment?
The construction equipment market can be classified into four segments - earthmoving equipment, material handling equipment (cranes), concrete equipment, and road-building equipment. The concrete construction equipment generates ten per cent of the market demand. The construction equipment industry in India is expected to grow to a size of $6.5 billion by 2014 as reported by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). It is one of the fastest growing segments driven by huge infrastructure development to meet the country's increasing demand.
What are the new products you have launched/tie ups in 2010-11?
At Excon 2011, Schwing Stetter will launch 20 new products, targeting everyone from small customers to large corporate across various segments. You can expect us to demonstrate the next level of mechanisation of concreting.
Brief us about some of the products.
S20: The Schwing S20 boom pump has broken into the construction equipment field. The pump has a 20 m boom with a combined RZ fold. The extremely short unfolding height of 3.85 m makes it ideal for use in cramped construction sites and also inside tunnels. The pump is designed to be fitted on the two-axle truck chassis of all leading truck manufacturers. The Schwing special banana outriggers give it a very small working footprint which is another advantage in construction sites. The generous storage space allows the users to store various accessories, and the light-weight structure helps save fuel. The higher capacity oil-cooler, optional large water tank and high-capacity splitter gearbox makes mounting of large and powerful hydraulic pumps possible. As with all Schwing pumps, the S20 operates in a proved open circuit which saves costs in the long run. The rock valve can pump the harshest concrete and leads to higher pumping capacities with lesser fuel consumption.
CP30 Galvanized & Planetary: Pre-casting in India is still in a nascent stage and will increase in the coming years, so Schwing Stetter has launched the CP30 with a planetary mixer to cater to this segment. The CP30 is one of India's favourite batching plants and has been tested in the most rugged conditions. The addition of the planetary pan mixture shall increase the value of this plant. Now optional galvanizing is also available, the galvanized structure reduces corrosion and wear-and-tear of the plant, increasing its life.
How do you look at the business opportunities at Excon?
We have great expectations from Excon 2011. It is a great opportunity for all manufacturers to meet the customers in one location. The last edition was at a time when the industry was facing a slowdown whereas this time, we are enjoying a good growth as an industry. Excon has become the platform for not only new product launches but also the venue for many overseas companies announcing their arrival in India. Stationary Concrete Pump SP 1400: The SP 1400 is a compact, high performance and highly-fuel efficient machine, with an output capacity of 52 m3/h of concrete. The product is designed with key features, including the output governed hydraulic pump that ensures that the prime mover is never over loaded. The machine is also equipped with the automatic governor that splits available engine output optimally into oil flow and oil pressure and allows the concrete pump to run the best possible output level.
F12 Mixer: The Schwing Stetter F12 mixer with belt conveyor is a product of unmatched value. By integrating the belt conveyor with the transit mixer, Schwing Stetter offers a revolutionary product that can place various bulk materials as well as place unpumpable concrete. The main advantage with this machine is that you can transport and place concrete with the same machine saving time and labour costs. The conveyor can handle concrete of slump 20-200 mm.

Designed to be mounted on a 3 axle truck, the boom is made of extremely strong but lightweight components that reduce the burden on the truck saving valuable fuel during operation and transport. Tests have proven it to be the most fuel-efficient boom pump in its class. The S36 has a reach of over 100 ft vertically and 90 ft horizontally and a pumping capacity of an average 90 cu m per hour.
Concrete Recycling Plant: Schwing Stetter now offers the recycling plant in two different sizes - from 12 cu m per hr to a maximum of 20 cu m per hr of concrete recycling. The recycling plant offers the users a variety of benefits. It is easy to operate and the automatic function results in low personnel costs. There are no disposal costs that owners need to bear.
Truck Mounted Concrete Pump: In the series of truck mounted concrete pumps SCHWING S17 placing boom mounted on two axle truck provides flexibility as a line pump and maneuverability as a boom pump and is ideal for inner city pumping. It can be used as a versatile line pump by simply attaching a hard pipe at the outlet or use it for vertical pouring up to G + 3 floors. Thanks to its light weight superstructure and modular design it is possible to mount on a 16 T truck and offers customers unbeatable value for money.

The characteristic component is the integrated x-type stabilizer in the front and right angled telescopic at the rear. Its special constructive feature provides sufficient space for the long - stroke units and an ideal arrangement of the other modules.
