The strategic leader
Sanjeev Ranjan is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of International Copper Association India (ICAI) since April 2011. He is also fulfilling the role of Sub-Regional Director of West Asia. ICAI is part of the worldwide network of copper promotion centres of the International Copper Association (ICA).

An alumnus of IIT, Roorkee, he graduated in 1986 as Mechanical Engineer with specialisation in Automobiles and Production Engineering. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Marketing & Systems) from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Prior to joining ICAI, Ranjan served as Associate Vice President/Corporate Strategy & Planning of GMR Group with responsibilities that included building the corporate strategy, portfolio analysis of the existing assets and projects and growing the organisation. He worked for a large part of his career with Tatas which included roles as Global Mining and Metals Practice Head with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and under various capacities with Tata Steel. He has traveled globally for visits and best practices training to various steel plants like US Steel (Pittsburg), Corus Steel (Netherlands and UK) and Thyssen Krupp (Germany) and other manufacturing facilities at South Africa, Thailand and China.

Ranjan?s more than 26 years of notable experience in manufacturing, marketing and sales, business consulting and corporate strategy is enabling him to further establish ICAI?s position of credibility among its stakeholders. He is instrumental in providing guidance, as well as implementing strategies and supporting the team to achieve the vision and mission of the organisation - to inspire the world about copper?s essentiality for health, technology and the quality of life.
