A Good Investment
The recently launched GCP 3709Z is a good investment for large projects like the metro, the monorail, airport and other high-rise infrastructural and residential buildings.

Greaves Cotton has launched its first boom pump which has a maximum vertical reach of 37 m, the first in the country. To keep in pace with the ever-changing customer needs, Greaves has introduced the high capacity truck-mounted boom pump to venture into other market segments previously unexplored.

The boom pump is a good investment for large projects like the Metro, monorail, airport and other high-rise infrastructural and residential buildings. These massive pumps shorten the duration of project completion, and reduce downtime and labour costs. With the huge infrastructure development opportunity in India in the coming fiscal year, the popularity of boom pumps is set to increase manifold among builders and contractors.

The market for boom pump is expected to grow over the next five years. The major customer sectors to drive the boom pump market are the mega cities with mass housing projects which need mass concreting in less time. Contractors are realising that making a smart investment like this reduces their dependency on manpower and meets their project deadline with ease.

GCP 3709Z is the longest boom pump in its class with a maximum vertical reach of 37 m and a 4-arm Z-fold type boom, mountable on a 3-axle chassis. The power for operation of boom pump is taken from the truck engine through the PTO system which eliminates the maintenance and weight of the slave engine.

There are several advantages to having a Z-type fold boom. The Z-fold boom is easy to manoeuver having increased flexibility and faster horizontal movement. It requires less unfolding heights and is highly suitable for working in areas where space is a constraint. The powerful pumping performance of the Greaves boom pump is due to the superior S valve pumping technology. The S valve is made of special wear resistant steel and the wear ring and plate are made of tungsten carbide which reduces the wear and tear thus ensuring smooth controllable operation. This, in addition to the automatic greasing system, increases the service life of the pump, reducing the frequent need for spare parts.

GCP 3709Z comes with both cable and radio remote options. The highly operator-friendly radio remote control comes with the controls to switch over to fast/slow boom operation. A unique feature of the Greaves boom pump is the alternative option where the boom can be manually operated by the manual override option provided in the base frame. The combination of the front outriggers are of telescopic type and back outriggers are of swinging type which allow ideal load distribution of the boom pedestal to the ground and safeguard the chassis frame.

Greaves has a dedicated after market team which looks after the servicing and spare parts availability for all products. Servicing is very important for the customer, for which, Greaves has invested largely on building training centres, recruiting skilled labour and conducting onsite training camps for both customers and Greaves operators. They have set up a wide network of service centres across all regions and service and spare parts are provided both by dealers and Greaves branches, whichever is closer to the customer.

As the requirement of the market changes, Greaves continuously innovates to keep up with their customer demands and bring out smarter and indigenous products.
