Atlantic Coal orders Komatsu excavators
Atlantic Coal has ordered more hydraulic excavators for its Stockton Mine in Pennsylvania, US, following delivery of a Komatsu Model PC3000 to the site. The company has now ordered an additional ten items of heavy mining plant from Komatsu?s wholly owned subsidiary Midlantic. Following the purchase of the equipment, Atlantic Coal will be able to continue to increase production at its Stockton Mine, a producing opencast anthracite operation. According to the company, the purchase of the new Komatsu equipment is to be funded through an asset-backed lease purchase agreement, which values $20 million over a period of six years. Four Komatsu Model HD785-7 100t haul trucks will be added to the six trucks that were purchased in 2014 and will be used for hauling overburden.
