Attachments provide on-site independence
MB Crusher recently launched its new shaft screeners range at bauma Munich. Piero Guizzetti, CEO, MB India, shares more on the crusher and screener attachments and the market scenario.

How do you look at the importance of attachments? What are the new innovations?
Crushing and screening buckets (attachments) are considered to be among the latest innovations in the hydraulic attachments segment. We are more confident than ever that the attachment business is just starting to blossom and will keep growing. Attachments are considered as a boon to secondary operations as they drastically reduce the capital investment required upfront. At the same time, they are more versatile in terms of applicability and do not require major logistical considerations and capital intensive mobilisation costs as one would face with stationary crushers for example.

What are the key advantages of using attachments with capital equipment?
They provide on-site independence. One may all of a sudden do crushing and screening operations in the remotest parts of the country without depending on expensive and time consuming transportation costs. They also eliminate a lot of labour issues when replacing manually executed jobs. This enhances consistency and efficiency.

What are the products and solutions offered?
We have a wide range of products in our portfolio and our products are versatile in nature. We have crushing buckets, screening buckets, and drum cutters. Shaft screeners are our latest product range recently launched at bauma Munich. This new range is most suitable for crushing and screening organic material and light construction debris. Our drum cutters are unique in the industry thanks to the dual motor and priority valve set up which enable consistency irrespective of the unpredictable nature of the stone/surface one needs to cut/trench. From breaking, trenching, stone cutting, crushing and sorting, we have it all covered at MB.

What are the customised solutions offered?
MB's R&D team is the heart of the organisation. We are constantly in pursuit to identify how our range of products could provide the highest value to our end-customers. Thanks to the breadth and depth of our product portfolio, we are compatible with all models and brands of excavators, backhoes and loaders. Our screening buckets' mesh can be customised as per the stone size requirements of the end-user.

What are the demand drivers of attachments in India?
Attachments are cost-effective and offer a unique bouquet of services, which helps to convert an existing excavator/loader from a digging/earthmoving machine to a screener, a primary crusher and all sorts of other utilities. We believe these unique features along with less environmental pollution, ease of undertaking work in the urban area, independence from electricity requirements, and increased efficiency in the output by reducing/eliminating the possibility of manually breaking the materials, are some of the key characteristic which is driving the demand for such attachments in the market.
