BAUMA bets on bigger and better
The floor is open for the largest construction equipment exhibition. Taking place from April 8 to 14, 2019 in Munich, the bauma trade fair is the leading industry event for construction machinery, building material plants, mining equipment, construction vehicles and construction equipment. Covering a total exhibition area of 614,000 sqm, bauma 2019 has 3,702 exhibitors from 63 countries and regions showcasing technology prowess with 66 per cent foreign participation (2,433 exhibitors from foreign countries). Italy has the largest participation among the foreign countries with a total of 560 exhibitors (according to Unacea), second only after Germany, the host nation. Canada is the partner country at bauma 2019.

The seven-day exhibition will see a host of product launches by various exhibitors. Manitowoc will unveil six new cranes and several new lifting technologies at bauma Munich. XCMG is bring a total of 16 products to the trade show, including new forklifts, loaders, piling machines, road rollers, road graders, cranes as well as tunnel, mining and bridge equipment. Wirtgen Group is present with its latest innovations along with John Deere range of products. Liebherr is exhibiting its latest innovations, which range from construction machines, material handling, mining and components. Cummins is celebrating its 100th anniversary at the bauma show with the company?s first engine known as the HVID. It will be shown alongside the latest B6.7 2019 Stage V engine, highlighting 100 years of engine innovation.

Electromobility and driverless vehicles in particular are seen as key future drivers. The world?s leading manufacturers will be showcasing their developments and discussing the opportunities and challenges presented by new technology at bauma 2019. Digital innovations are increasingly shaping our everyday lives?including in the construction machinery industry. Visitors at bauma 2019 will have an all-new experience on virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR). Users can now experience construction sites virtually and be part of the story in the middle of the action.

VR and AR can be used to present products in the development phase, prototypes, or future scenarios and explain them in a completely new way. This opens up a host of new opportunities for companies.

According to the organisers, there are 48 companies from India showcasing products and solutions at the bauma 2019. Schwing Stetter India is participating in bauma 2019 with three of it Made-in-India products: two trailer pumps and one self-loading mixer.
