Wu firstly extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the CCMA and BICES organising committee, and appreciated international partners and supporters for their warm attention and strong support of China’s construction machinery industry and BICES show over the past three years. Then, Wu introduced the development of China’s construction machinery industry in recent years and the latest progress and highlights of BICES 2023. He stressed that the conference will be the start of the launch campaign of the global promotion of BICES 2023.

Wu pointed out that China's construction machinery industry as a whole has achieved stable and healthy development in recent years. In 2021, the operating revenue of the entire industry reached 906.5 billion RMB. The overall performance remained high in 2022 although with some adjustments. Chinese construction machinery products have been widely recognized by countries and regions around the world. In 2021, the export volume exceeded 30 billion dollars, and in 2022, it exceeded 40 billion dollars, reaching 44.302 billion dollars, with a year-on-year growth of 30.2%, the industry has not only continuously created new historical highs, but also made new progress in high-end, intelligent, and green transformation.

As for the BICES exhibition, Wu stated that BICES is an industrial exhibition in China with the longest history and high-quality performance. After 34 years and 15 sessions of development, BICES has formed five distinctive advantages, in the fields of industry, geographical position, exhibition venue, brand, and organiser. By making use of those advantages, BICES 2023 will provide exhibitors and visitors from both home and abroad with satisfied service and experiences.

By the end of February 2023, the number of registered exhibitors for BICES 2023 had reached a record high during the same period. All leading Chinese brands and foreign-invested enterprises in China will participate in BICES 2023 with large spaces, such as LIUGONG, SANY, SDLG, XCMG, HANGCHA, ZOOMLION, CRCHI, SHANTUI, HELI, CREC, Jonyang, SUNWARD, Dingli, Liaoning Censcience Industry, Hengli Hydraulic, EDDIE Precision, LKC HYDRAULIC, SHENGHANG, JIACHEN, stronger hydraulic, etc., and the well-known foreign brands such as CATERPILLAR, KOBELCO, HITACHI, CUMMINS, ISUZU, KAWASAKI, DEUTZ, JLG, KOHLER and son on. In addition, plenty of well-known enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the industry supply chain have also participated in BICES 2023, such as Han's Laser, Nanjing Iron, Sherwin-Williams, etc.

Overall, focusing on the theme of "Digital, Efficiency, Green and Reliable", BICES 2023 scope will cover the entire industrial chain and a number of high-end, intelligent, and green new technologies, new products, and new services of the industry will be intensively presented. While, diversified concurrent events and conferences will be held during the show date, such as the "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Forum on Construction Machinery, China-Africa Cooperation and Development Forum on Construction Machinery, International Capacity Forum on Overseas Contracted Projects and Construction Machinery Cooperation, World Construction Machinery Intelligence Conference and events reflect the latest development direction of the industry, such as China Excavating Machinery Industry Conference, China Construction Technology and Equipment Technology Integration Development Conference, Construction Machinery Conference on the Green Development and Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals, a series of selection activities in various fields will provide more in-depth communication opportunities for the vast number of exhibition participants.
