Caterpillar Unveils New Machines at bauma CONEXPO India 2026
"Caterpillar has launched the Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator, Cat D5 Dozer and Cat 120 GC Motor Grader at bauma CONEXPO India 2026, strengthening its equipment portfolio for mining, heavy infrastructure and road construction applications.

The machines are being showcased at Caterpillar’s stall O.E20 at the India Expo Centre, Delhi NCR, from 15-18 September. The company is also displaying Cat and SEM equipment, connected technologies, aftermarket services, financing solutions, rental and used equipment, FG Wilson gensets and work tools.

Designed for quarrying, mining and heavy infrastructure applications, the Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator is powered by a Cat C13B engine and electrohydraulic system. Its 355 WVG configuration features a 4,040-mm-wide undercarriage for improved stability and can be equipped with a 4.0 cu m severe-duty bucket or a 4.5 cu m heavy-duty bucket.

The excavator offers three work modes, while smart mode automatically balances engine and hydraulic power based on operating requirements. Extended filter life, synchronised maintenance intervals, ground-level service points and onboard maintenance tracking are designed to reduce downtime and operating costs.

The Cat D5 Dozer is powered by a Cat C7.1 engine paired with a fully automatic transmission. It features a 4.3 cu m SU blade and is designed to deliver productivity and fuel-efficient operation across mining and infrastructure projects. The machine also offers VPAT blade options and technology features for applications requiring greater precision.

For road construction and maintenance, Caterpillar introduced the Cat 120 GC Motor Grader. Powered by a Cat C4.4 engine, the grader combines a powershift transmission, electronic throttle control and standard eco mode. It is suited to low- and medium-duty applications including rural road maintenance and finish grading.

Available features on the 120 GC include a digital blade slope meter, all-wheel drive, reversing fan, multiple mouldboard widths and front and rear attachments for different grading requirements.

“India’s next phase of infrastructure growth will be defined by productivity, efficiency and execution at scale,” said Gurman Reen, Sales Director, Customer Solutions Division, Caterpillar India. He added that the three machines, supported by Caterpillar’s technology, services and financing solutions, are aimed at helping customers improve performance, manage costs and maximise equipment value.

Caterpillar is also showcasing technologies including Product Link, VisionLink and Cat GRADE with ASSIST, along with Customer Value Agreements and Cat Central, its digital platform for equipment information, maintenance resources, parts ordering and dealer support."
