Centennial Celebrations at Gates India
As Gates Corporation step into a new century of innovations, their centennial year was celebrated by the wholly-owned subsidiary Gates India.

It was a first of its kind, Technology Day by Gates India, showcased at JCB India headquarters in Faridabad. It was an appropriate occasion to be present at Gates India?s largest customer where the focus was on new offerings by Gates, specifically the new product range of Megasys? hose and Megacrimp couplings, tubing range and quick lock couplings. The main aim of the technology day was to showcase Gates? capability as a supplier and prese?nting all of the solutions and product portfolio on offer.

The Megasys hose system was launched and will now be domestically manufactured; its components Megasys hose and Megacrimp coupling will be available across the country through dealers. The Megasys hose system is a leak-free range of hose system which is a perfect blend of tech?nology and innovation. The uniqueness of the Megasys? Hose system lies in the fact that it provides com?plete solutions. Megasys hoses are specialised Gates? cons?tant pressure hoses which last three times longer than any ordinary hose system. The superior technology of Megasys hoses is attri?buted to its high impulse design, 1/3 SAE bend radius, leak-free fittings and abrasion resistant covers. Megasys? hoses are used with its exce?p?tional partner the Mega?crimp? couplings; the?se couplings have the Gates patented c-insert with bite the wire crimp for exce?llent cou?pling rete??ntion. This ver?satile co?up?ling has a Full-Tor?que Nut design along with a full stem insertion and full length crimp. This coup?ling is also fully qualified by EN perfor?mance standards. The en?vi?ro?n??mentally friendly Tuff Coat plating for 500 per cent better corrosion resistance ma?kes the use of any other coupling a compromise before Mega?crimp Coup?lings. These Gates hoses and couplings make a special Gates interface techno?logy un?beaten in the industry.

The inauguration of the Technology Day was done by Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India, who also gave a brief talk about the expectations from the technology day. Comme?rcial viability of the technology while ad?ding new features and en?hanced performance from the equipment was the highlight of his speech. G Sundraraman, Vice Presi?dent Quality and Platform Engg, explained the unique JCB India method of measuring value by ascertaining re?sale value of the back?hoe at the end of the period. Mere meeting of the warranty life is not enough, the extended life the customer get from the equipment decides the leadership position in the long term. Subir Kumar Chaudhary, EVP (Business Head ? BHL) and Sanjeev Arora, VP Engg, also graced the occasion. A joint lamp lightening session by the JCB and Gates team was followed by a warm welcome by Jaideep Wadhwa, President?Tomkins (I&A). Recalling the special relationship Gates have had with JCB since the time the latter entered India, he reiterated Gates? commitment to further this relation?ship. Rajesh C Bhandari, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing recalled benefit of sharing technical knowhow of hydraulics to improve customer satisfaction and repeat sales.
An exhibition of Gates product range facilitated first?hand experience of technology products by JCB team.
