Chicago Pneumatic Launches CPS 950-300 Portable Air Compressor
Chicago Pneumatic India has launched its new CPS 950-300 portable air compressor, designed to support waterwell, mining and solar foundation drilling applications. The compressor combines high air delivery, fuel efficiency and operational flexibility to help contractors improve productivity, reduce operating costs and manage demanding drilling conditions.
The launch comes as drilling contractors face challenges including deeper drilling requirements, changing ground conditions, declining groundwater levels, rising operational costs and tighter project timelines. Growing solar infrastructure development has further increased demand for reliable and high-volume foundation drilling solutions.
The CPS 950-300 delivers 950 cfm at 300 psig, providing the airflow and pressure required for demanding borewell and foundation drilling operations. With up to 10% higher fuel efficiency, the compressor helps reduce fuel consumption while maintaining consistent drilling performance and effective hole cleaning.
Designed for drilling depths of up to 800 feet, the compressor enables contractors to undertake deeper drilling projects while improving operational efficiency and controlling costs.
The equipment features flexible mounting configurations for both truck- and excavator-mounted applications, allowing easier deployment across challenging job sites. Its single-sided design provides convenient access to service points, simplifying maintenance and reducing downtime.
The CPS 950-300 is suitable for multiple applications, including waterwell drilling, coal and iron ore mining, and solar foundation drilling. This versatility allows contractors to improve fleet utilisation, expand service capabilities and explore new project opportunities.
Commenting on the launch, Prasanna Kulkarni, General Manager – Power Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India), said the compressor has been developed around key contractor priorities such as productivity, efficiency and profitability. He added that its fuel efficiency and multi-application capability will help customers maximise equipment utilisation and manage operational costs effectively.
