Deere P-Tier Wheel Loaders Add Smart Systems
John Deere’s new 524, 544, and 624 P-Tier mid-size wheel loaders arrive with advanced smart features designed to increase uptime, boost productivity, and enhance jobsite safety.

A suite of integrated systems simplifies maintenance with real-time diagnostics and automatic daily checks. A new 7-inch touchscreen serves as the primary display, offering access to key systems and a rear-view camera feed.

Each time the machine starts, it performs automated fluid level checks. An auto warm-up feature readies key systems before work begins, while fluid loss detection immediately alerts both operators and fleet managers of sudden changes.

Battery health is also monitored remotely, reporting on charging cycles, discharge rates, and idle status. The touchscreen can run two apps simultaneously, such as system diagnostics and camera views. Though physical buttons have been removed, Deere assures users that essential controls remain easily accessible.

A major innovation is the SmartDetect awareness system, available as a factory option for the first time. SmartDetect uses cameras, radar, and machine learning to identify people or objects around the loader. Alerts appear visually and audibly on the in-cab display. When paired with the optional G5 display, SmartDetect also captures near-miss events for later review.

Maintenance has been streamlined through updates to Deere’s QuadCool Cooling System. Redesigned hoods, grilles, and roofs eliminate the need to climb the machine, and a relocated axle cooling system allows easier access. A side-mounted reverse fan ejects debris, reducing build-up. A new rear door opens independently from the sides, providing direct access to components and simplifying service routines on these next-gen loaders.
