Gottwald Port Technology GmbH, a subsidiary of Demag Cranes AG, has launched a new legal-for-trade weighing system for mobile and portal harbour cranes. This officially verified, EU type-approved weighing system makes it possible to determine the weight of bulk materials for commercial and billing purposes fast and accurately during crane operation. Thus, separate weighing processes and equipment are not needed. Demag Cranes' new legal-for-trade weighing system is installed on the crane and allows for automatic, dynamic weighing of bulk material in the grab during crane operation. The new crane weighing system comes with a special weighing terminal, including a display and tamper-proof recording system, installed in the crane cab. The weighing data are shown on the display immediately and can be transmitted to printers or to processing systems to issue the weighing documents.
