The auto industry is impacted by the various measures such as curbs on registration of diesel SUVs and the odd-even vehicle formula in Delhi. However, according to scientists, construction activity is a major reason to be blamed for the dangerous concentration of particulate matter in the air. Scientists say that during construction, a lot of dust is generated from earth, sand, cement and brick. Though the government and private firms are spending thousands of crores on projects, they are not spending much to control the dust. The dust accumulated gets recirculated by vehicles.
