Escorts wins govt contract
The agri-machinery arm of Escorts has entered into an one-year rate contract with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for supplying tractors to central and state-level agencies.The Faridabad-based company has tied up with the Directorate-General of Supplies and Disposal, under the Commerce Ministry. It will supply tractors from both its Powertrac and Farmtrac brands on pre-approved prices directly without going for any tendering process.
Escorts? range of tractors are designed for both agricultural and commercial applications and are compatible with a number of implements such as rotavator, cultivator, thrasher, reaper, baler and seed drills.The company has sold over a million tractors till date, with the annual production capacity touching 98,940 units across its plants near Delhi.
