Finlay Launches Elektro Hybrid Crushing Range in India
Finlay, a global manufacturer of mobile crushing, screening and conveying equipment, has introduced its new Elektro range of tracked hybrid crushing machines, developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility. Unveiled at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, the range is initially available in India, with plans to expand into selected international markets operating under Tier 3 emission standards.
The Elektro range combines Finlay's crushing technology with flexible diesel-electric operation to reduce fuel consumption, operating costs and emissions. The launch attracted significant industry interest, with nearly 170 customers attending a Finlay conference and inauguration event ahead of the exhibition.
The range initially comprises two models, the J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher and C-1540 Elektro cone crusher. Both machines can operate using mains electricity where grid connections are available or an onboard diesel-powered generator in remote locations. This flexibility makes them suitable for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications.
Mohit Kumar, Assistant General Manager of Products, Terex India, said the range combines local engineering expertise with Terex's global design and manufacturing capabilities. He highlighted its potential to improve productivity, reduce ownership costs and support customers' sustainability objectives.
The J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher features a direct electric-drive Terex single-toggle jaw chamber and a heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder. Its high-swing jaw design facilitates efficient material entry and consistent throughput. The machine also incorporates a double-door electrical panel for protection in dusty environments and integrated telematics for real-time performance monitoring.
The C-1540 Elektro cone crusher integrates the Terex 1000 cone chamber with direct electric-drive technology and hydraulic closed-side setting adjustment. Its Automax crushing system features a high-throw design to deliver consistent throughput and high-quality aggregates. Automated metal detection and a cone-level sensor help maintain efficient feeding and improve productivity.
Both models are designed to reduce maintenance requirements and operating costs compared with conventional diesel-hydraulic machines. Finlay plans to introduce additional Elektro models as it expands its hybrid crushing equipment portfolio across India and selected international markets.
