Funds sanctioned to build 3,500 km roads in Maha, Gujarat

For Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Union government has sanctioned money for building 3,500 km roads in the two states. In 3,500 km roads to be developed in the two states, Maharashtra's share will be 2,620 km. Ramtek MP Mukul Wasnik had conducted a review meeting of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) on July 13. He told the Congress workers in Nagpur that Nagpur would be included in the tenth phase.

He added that priority would be given to roads that link a village with a district road, one village with another needed for school students, to the villages having public health centres (PHCs) and markets. He asked the zilla parishad (ZP) officials to send rural road proposals to state government as soon as possible.
