Future good for GCC construction industry
In an interview with the INTERMAT Middle East team to discuss the future of the construction and infrastructure industry in the GCC and the Middle East region, Andreas Geier, General Manager, SENNEBOGEN Middle East, said that the Middle East region is currently poised for growth in the construction and infrastructure sectors. Geier, said, ?For sure there will be some boom markets, like Qatar (2013 onwards, due to the World Cup 2022), Iraq and Egypt (after the political situation stablises), but even in other markets like Oman, UAE, Kuwait and KSA, we see good possibilities for the next years.?

A recent study by MEED Projects, has reported that several construction and infrastructure projects have been awarded to six of the GCC countries which include: $119 billion to Saudi Arabia; $75 billion to UAE; $26 billion to Qatar; $30 billion to Oman, $25 billion to Kuwait; and $10 billion to Bahrain.

SENNEBOGEN participated at the inaugural INTERMAT Middle East last year and will be returning to participate again.
