GE, L&T to jointly manufacture subsea equipment
GE and Larsen & Toubro have signed an agreement to partner in manufacturing subsea equipment for deep water projects in the Krishna-Godavari basin on the East coast of India. L&T will participate in the project through its subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering and will use its modular fabrication facility in Tamil Nadu for the project. The partnership aims to leverage on the manufacturing and technological capabilities of the two companies in the oil and gas space, and will mark India's entry into local subsea equipment manufacturing.

L&T's modular fabrication unit is spread over an area of 600,000 sqm and has an annual capacity of 50,000 mt. The plant is equipped with advanced welding and fabrication capabilities, along with a 150 m jetty, enabling easier transit for advanced hardware for the seabed. Utilising a modular approach, GE's subsea manifolds will provide long term reliability, safety and quality, while addressing the complexities of the subsea environment.
