Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has laid the foundation for the construction of its latest specialised tyre factory in Badalgama, Sri Lanka. This factory will produce pneumatic tyres for agriculture, industrial, off-road and construction vehicles, all destined for export market.

GRI will invest over $40 million in the new facility, which will be built adjacent to its current solid industrial tyre factory in Badalgama. The new factory will be the largest in Sri Lanka dedicated to producing speciality tyres.

The new plant is expected to commence trial production by the end of 2017. Based in Sri Lanka, GRI is a leading manufacturer of specialised tyres for materials handling, industrial, agricultural, off-road and construction vehicles. It has sales offices and warehouses in the US, Germany, France, Netherlands and Australia.
