In order to ensure smooth flow of funds for core sector projects covering railways, highways, port and housing segments, the Central Government has recently finalised plans to launch the National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) with a corpus of Rs 20,000 crore to finance projects for core sector such as railways, highways etc.
