HC lifts stay on Sector 56 road project in Gurgaon

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has now started working on a road project near a prominent private school in Sector 56 of Gurgaon. HUDA has started the work of calculating budget for the road that goes along the private school.

The construction of the road will benefit thousands of the residents living in the nearby sectors. HUDA was not able to work on the road, around 600 metres long, due to litigation by a private person. The case had been pending in Punjab and Haryana high court and recently the court vacated the stay.

After the stay had been vacated, HUDA started working on the project. The work will start next month and estimates and budget are being cleared, said a HUDA official.

The president of Progressive Gurgaon Forum, Raman Sharma said that the PGF had taken the case with the HUDA officials and it is worth mentioning that after realising that there is no legal hurdle to start the work, HUDA has now started working on the road.

There is over hundreds of land litigations in Gurgaon on the land belonging to HUDA and this has been big problem faced to start or complete infrastructure work, said Sharma.

Two other big projects of HUDA, NPR and SPR, are making tardy progress because land litigations in different sections.
