HCC JV wins Bangalore Metro contract
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has awarded a contract to Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), which had partnered with URC Construction for bidding the project. The contract worth Rs 797.29 crore is for the work between HSR Layout and RV Road stations under Phase II. The work pertains to a 6.340 km stretch of the fully elevated 18.82 km section. It will have five stations ? Central Silk Board, BTM Layout, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda and RV Road. The project is to be completed in 36 months.

The 72.095 km Phase II will have 13.79 km long underground section. BMRCL is in the process of selecting contractors for the underground Gottigere-Nagawara section, which has been split into four packages to speed up the work. Phase II is scheduled for completion in 2020.
