Infrastructure major, Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) as a lead partner in the joint venture with MMS of Russia, has been awarded Rs 2,523 crore contract by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL).

The contract is for construction of 4,072 m corridor of the underground metro line including four underground stations at Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Kalbadevi, Girgaon and Grant Road and twin bored tunnels of total length of 3,115 m. The project is to be completed in 55 months.

Meanwhile, HCC has also won a contract worth Rs 1,749.59 crore from IRCON International Ltd to construct two tunnels and a bridge on Katra-Banihal Section of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla New BG Railway Line Project.
