Ideal for Indian Market

Liebherr introduces the 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic flat-top crane with interior climbing system.

At the bC India in Mumbai, Liebherr presented its 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic flat-top crane with the 63 LC interior climbing system. This combination of flat-top crane and compact interior climbing system is ideal for the Indian market. Extremely simple, safe assembly on the construction site is an additional advantage.

The 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic, like all Liebherr EC-B flat-top cranes, is based on a modular design concept, so that the tower system is compatible with any other crane in this range. Its maximum load capacity is 5,000 kg, and with a working radius of 50 m it can lift 1,000 kg at the jib head.

All drive motors are supplied with power through frequency converters, for smooth load movements absolutely free from jerking. Thanks to the continuous power flow, loads can be positioned gently and precisely, and even inexperienced crane operators can easily master the crane?s controls.

Loads are always handled with a double-reeved hoisting rope, so that no waste of time on re-reeving. With the 24-kW FU hoisting gear ? standard on this crane ? lifting heights of up to 226 m and a maximum lifting speed of 123 m/min are possible. These hook heights are also practicable when the 63 LC interior climbing system is used.

The central unit of the 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic, as on all models in this series, is the innovative, compact flat-top assembly, into which the slewing gear, the complete ball slewing ring support, the switchgear cabinet with complete electrical switchgear and the crane cab are integrated. On the 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic, the hoisting gear is also located there. The compact flat-top assembly is suitable for movement from place to place by truck as a single unit placed vertically.

Thanks to the simplified `Connect and Work` erecting system that Liebherr offers as standard equipment on all its flat-top cranes, the 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic can be assembled quickly and safely. The Connect and Work system has quick-acting fasteners for the jib and counter-jib and electrical connections to the drives and switchgear. LiConnect, the quick-acting jib fastening system, is a Liebherr development that has been patented as a registered design. The 71 EC-B 5 FR.tronic can be installed on foundation anchors or a cruciform foundation, or operated on a rail track; the maximum free-standing hook height is 45.7 m.

Liebherr has designed its 63 LC interior climbing system specifically for use on small to medium-sized construction tasks. The climbing method with the 63 LC tower system is the same in principle as with the well-proven, exceptionally safe Liebherr ladder-type climbing system. It permits the crane to be located centrally inside the building. The tower is based on a module of only 1.2 x 1.2 m and is therefore ideal for climbing even in very compact lift shafts or air conditioning ducts.

Division into crane and system elements results into an interior climbing system with optimised applications. The crane elements are the special tower sections and guide frames. The system elements consist of the climbing ladders and the complete hydraulic unit. The mobile hydraulic climbing unit permits maximum flexibility on the construction site and enables the customer to save money when several cranes with the 63 LC interior climbing system are in use at the same time.
