India's biggest logistics park to come up near Bengaluru
Flipkart is planning to set up an integrated logistics park on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Expected to be the largest and one-of-its-kind facility in the country, the new facility will house multiple massive warehouses far bigger in size than those set up by Amazon and Alibaba in the US and China, respectively. The company is in the process of acquiring 100 acres of land.

The unit, which will help Flipkart consolidate all its warehouses in and around Bengaluru, will also act as the logistics hub across the four southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. According to the company, the unit will house 4.5 million sq ft of warehousing space in the next few years.

The integrated logistics park will not only help it deliver products to customers faster, it will also help reduce the cost of logistics by bringing together multiple players in the ecosystem. The park will have 1.5 million sq ft of warehousing space by the middle of next year.
