Italian exports of construction equipment in 2015 scored a total value of ?2.5 billion, with an increase of 4.9 per cent compared with 2014. The data has been released by the Samoter Outlook, the observatory dedicated to the world of construction equipment, provided by Samoter in collaboration with Prometeia and UNACEA. According to the data of the latest report on international trade, imports grew (+17.2 per cent), driven by the recovery of the internal market, reaching a value of more than -?650 million. The trade balance (+1.1 per cent) remains positive, coming in at -?1.8 billion. In details, export grew for road machines (+27.5 per cent), tower cranes grew (+14 per cent), earth-moving machines (+6.3 per cent) and drilling machineries (+6.2 per cent). However, export of concrete equipment still fell, even if slightly (-2.2 per cent), as well as the export of crushing and screening equipment (-2 per cent). Finally, the trade balance grew 1.1 per cent with a surplus of more than ?1.8 billion. Western Europe is still the main destination of Italian equipment but export to African, Asian and American markets also grew. On the contrary, export to Russia dramatically fell (-61.7 per cent) as well as export to Middle East (-6 per cent), both destinations affected by international crisis.
