JCB Clean Earth awards
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Task Force on mana?gement of solid waste (MSW) and APTDC organised the JCB Clean Earth awards for excellence in management of solid waste in Hyderabad on 6 December 2011. These awards honoured the followers of best practices in the field of MSW for private and Government organisations and aimed to create an awareness that will spread across urban local bodies and the industry. Held at Hyderabad, the awards were presented by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan.

On the occasion, Amit Gossain, Chairman, CII Task Force on MSW & Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, JCB India, said, "JCB is proud to be associated with CII for these awards. These awards have recognised the great work done on several prestigious projects pertaining to management of solid waste that have been offered in the past year and executed very efficiently by private companies, municipal bodies and NGOs. Effective management of solid waste is very important for a healthy society in India's fast developing cities and I am glad that the interest in such projects is on the rise." Through a panel of experts and Knowledge partner Ernst & Young, the efforts of the concerned organisations have been judged by their scope of work in solid waste mana?gement, innovation and effort, technology, process and systems, aesthetics and project sustai?nability. The awards were given away for the categories of Company, Municipal Body and NGO.
