Krishnapatnam Porti in association with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has launched a new direct bi-weekly rail connectivity service between ICD Bengaluru and KPCT. The service which is currently live will run a bi-weekly shuttle service to Maersk Salalah catering to the intense demand from business houses in and around Bengaluru. The initiative has been strategically put in place to enable shippers and consignees in and around Bengaluru to avail a safer, reliable and time-efficient alternative to road movement. The service has scheduled an export from ICD Bengaluru on every Tuesday and Friday and an import departure from Krishnapatnam on every Wednesday and Saturday. The new service will radically reduce the transportation time to a mere 48 hours for import and export transits post discharge of the vessel.
