A Liebherr LTM 1100-5.2 mobile crane from Krandienst Kunze was involved in the Semper Opera Ball in Dresden. The crane held a ball fitted with mirrors which acted as a focal point in the light show and firework display. The LTM 1100-5.2 hoisted a mirror ball for these events which enriched the light show with an additional fantastic effect. The use of a hundred-tonne crane was necessary since the ball was held at an outreach of around 50 m.

One of the special features of the Semper Opera Ball is the fact that the event is broadcast live in the square in front of the Opera House from where thousands of visitors can follow the programme. At the same time, live pictures of the show in the square are also broadcast in the Opera House.
