GKN Land Systems has been building Stromag brand limit switches for 50 years. The company offers a wide range of limit switches for many applications with different switch contacts and housings made of metal or plastic. Different combinations of limit switches with analog/digital outputs for position feedback systems and flexible integrated housings. GKN Stromag limit switches can work efficiently and reliably with different encoders and potentiometers.

Cranes
Faster, accurate and reliable handling of loads with crane systems is very important. Precise, accurate switch off points with maximum repetition accuracy for elevation equipment are ensured by switching contacts, in the form of instantaneous contact release and automatic disconnection with minimal switching hysteresis. Series HHEV: IP65, durable aluminium housing with 170o lever travel and up to 8 contacts.

Series HGE: IP65, heavy-duty durable aluminium housing, metallic gear teeth, up to 345 usable revolutions and potentiometer or encoder mounting arrangement. LightCam?: IP65, cost effective, plastic housing and gear teeth, up to 880 usable turns, arrangement for encoder & potentiometer.

Sereis 100/110: IP66, metal/plastic housing and gear teeth, with up to 12 contacts and potentiometer arrangement.

HNE/GHNE: IP 65, heavy-duty, metal housing, lever, with/without counterweight.

Wind systems
GKN LS Stromag offers customised solutions for every application and is an indispensable partner for gear-type limit switches in the wind turbine market. The various combinations of gear type limit switches with analogue or digital position feedback systems are integrated into flexible housing constructions for precise operation of PITCH and YAW drives.

PITCH:
LightCam?: It has one switching contact for safe stopping. Series 51: It has directly driven absolute encoder.

WKA: This can come with absolute encoders and LED signalling.

YAW:
LightCam?: It can be with integrated potentiometer, with directly driven encoder and easy identification for plug connection or externally driven absolute encoder.

New Technology:
SmartCam?: The SmartCam is integrated in the modular gear switch. The mechanical switching contacts ensure the deactivation at the end positions.

Additional data like absolute position on the lifting and traverse path, sense of rotation, speed, acceleration, and operating hours are output separately. GKN Stromag has a range of solutions for stage technology.
