What are the new products you are showcasing at EXCON 2025?
At Excon 2025, Mahindra Construction Equipment will be unveiling an all-new product, the details of which are reserved for an official reveal at the event. Alongside this, Mahindra will be presenting the updated EarthMaster Backhoe Loader (CEV V) and RoadMaster Motor Grader (G80, G90, G100), which comply with the latest CEV V emission standards and incorporate major advancements in productivity, safety, and connectivity.
How are your machines addressing the demand for efficiency, safety, and sustainability in India's infrastructure growth?
Mahindra’s current range, including the EarthMaster and RoadMaster, is engineered to deliver outstanding efficiency, safety, and sustainability for India’s fast-evolving infrastructure sector. Features such as high-torque Mahindra engines, multi-mode fuel-saving systems (diesel saver, normal, power), auto-idle, and advanced telematics (iMAXX) drive down fuel usage and emissions, directly supporting sustainability. For safety, all machines are now equipped with ROPS/FOPS-certified cabins, improved visibility with LED lamps, and robust designs like thick casting booms and steel plates, minimising breakdowns and maintenance.
With India focusing on mega infrastructure projects, how do you see the demand evolving for large vs. mid-sized/small equipment?
India’s ongoing mega infrastructure push fuels demand for both large and mid/small equipment. Mahindra’s strategy addresses this with a tailored product portfolio: the high-powered RoadMaster G100 addresses the needs of large-scale highway and expressway contractors, while mid-sized G80 and G90 Motor Graders, as well as versatile EarthMaster Backhoe Loaders, allow small and mid-level contractors and rental operators to access high productivity at a lower cost. This spectrum directly supports diverse application needs across highways, rural roads, and urban development projects.
How are you incorporating digital technologies like telematics, AI, or automation in your machines?
Mahindra’s iMAXX telematics platform is now standard across key models, enabling remote monitoring, GPS tracking, geofencing, real-time alerts, and predictive maintenance. These digital solutions optimise fleet usage, help reduce downtime, and maximise operational efficiency. Continued advancements are being made to integrate AI-led analytics and automation features across the equipment suite, aligning with India's shift towards connected and data-driven construction sites.
What role does localisation play in your product strategy for India?
Localisation remains central to Mahindra’s product development for India. Almost all critical aggregates—including engines, axles, and hydraulic components—are sourced and manufactured domestically or from global facilities tailored to Indian conditions. This approach enables cost-effective production, swifter service, and superior adaptability to specific regional requirements, which is vital in India’s price-sensitive and diverse market. Localisation also supports compliance with the latest emission norms and aligns with Make in India policies.
How is your company addressing after-sales service and spare parts availability in remote project sites?
Mahindra has established a robust pan-India support network, spanning 53 channel partners, 400+ districts, and multiple zonal offices. Key after-sales differentiators include rapid parts availability, on-site service vans, and a 48-hour uptime service guarantee with compensation for delays. The iMAXX platform plays a crucial role in proactive service planning and remote diagnostics, ensuring sustained uptime even in remote or challenging project locations.
What are your growth priorities for the Indian market in the next three to five years?
Mahindra’s medium-term growth priorities focus on expanding market share by delivering cutting-edge, sustainable, and digitally enabled equipment; deepening regional penetration, especially in emerging rural infrastructure markets; and enhancing customer experience through technology-driven aftersales service. The company is also committed to further advancements in product localisation, ensuring competitive offerings for a broad customer base—from small road contractors to major infrastructure developers.
How do you see the rental equipment ecosystem shaping demand for your products?
Mahindra recognises the growing prominence of the equipment rental ecosystem in India, driven by financial flexibility, project-based usage, and accelerated urbanisation. The product range is designed for rental suitability, emphasising ease of operation, robust telematics, low total cost of ownership, and minimal downtime. The ongoing focus on sustainable and connected equipment also makes Mahindra products highly attractive to rental companies seeking high utilisation rates, operational safety, and compliance with new emission and digital norms.
