Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco) has charged Western Coalfields Ltd for over charging and supplying low-grade quality coal containing higher percentage of impurities leading to losses. The counsel for Mahagenco had submitted tested sample from Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR) proving that it had ash content ranging between 47-52 per cent against prescribed limit of 34 per cent.
