The Mormugao Port Trust has procured a harbour port crane at Rs 28 crore, and commissioned in the port. The crane is the highest capacity one available in any port of India, capable of handling almost every type of cargo. The 120-tonne capacity crane was procured from Italgru, Italy. In the Rs 28 crore, Rs 13 crore has been funded to the port by the Ministry of Commerce under the assistance to states for development of export infrastructure and allied activities.
