New Age Saw

The new circular saw by SKIL offers speed, power and durability. This tool is a perfect choice to suit the needs of carpenters and wood workers.

Power tool manufacturer SKIL, a Bosch Group company, has introduced its 3.9-kg circular saw 5500 with a 184-mm cutting blade in India. It is powered by a 1,500-W motor for faster cutting speed and also boasts of the highest power-to-weight ratio in the circular saw category. Fast, powerful, and durable, the SKIL circular saw 5500 is perfect for both standard and heavy-duty applications and can be used to cut a wide range of materials, including softwoods, hardwoods, timber floor boards, laminated wooden boards, and skirting boards. The tool is a perfect choice for carpenters and wood workers looking for high quality and durable power tools.

SKIL is known to offer unique user-focused features with cutting-edge technology. The SKIL 5500 addresses the 'sight to line of cut' problem found in many circular saws, by introducing a two-point view of the cutting line, allowing users to follow the line from both sides of the saw blade. The left side also features a cutting window that provides the user with a clear line of sight.

Tailored for optimum comfort, ease of use and safety, the SKIL circular saw 5500 has a die-cast aluminium body along with strong guard, stainless steel foot plate, enhanced carbon brush, bevel and depth setting mechanism and end-cap design.

The circular saw's upper and lower metal guards have a thickness of 2.5 mm, well above the industry standard of 1.2-1.5 mm. The lower guard features a patented, anti-snag design, allowing it to withstand the rigors of rough cutting applications, particularly when making narrow cut-offs. Unlike conventional guards which may bend or break easily, the robust design of the SKIL circular saw 5500's lower guard ensures it will maintain its integrity even when dropped on hard ground. The stamped metal foot plate of this circular saw is similarly designed with rough cutting applications in mind to provide extra stability and durability to the tool. An integrated auxiliary handle provides extra comfort and optimum sawing guidance control. Lock-off switch allows users to operate the switch from either side of the handle. These handy features, together with a combination of the circular saw's compact design and light weight, offer users an efficient and convenient tool for fatigue-free working.

The SKIL circular saw 5500 also features an optimised chip ejection system. Chips are bundled as they flow out of the dust port in the upper guard, allowing for improved dust management.
