New Sandvik Coromant Center in Pune
The new Sandvik Coromant Center is equipped with a technical platform that streams live machining demonstrations (via the cloud) to remote locations.

Sandvik Coromant India opened its new global meeting place in Pune for productivity, application, machining and research in manufacturing. This 18,000 sq ft facility - one of the only six such centres across the Sandvik Coromant portfolio present- with an investment worth SEK 35 million (Rs 270 million). The other centres are Langfang in China, Schaumburg in USA, Queretaro in Mexico, Fair Lawn in USA and Sandviken in Sweden.

The new Sandvik Coromant Center in Pune is equipped with Digital Live Machining (DLM), a technical platform that streams live machining demonstrations (via the cloud) to remote locations.

Coinciding the opening of the new facility, Sandvik Coromant organised 'Innovation Conclave 2018', a technology meet where the Sandvik Coromant Center in Pune attracted about 2,000 visitors from all over the India. The visitors had access to the latest technology, products, engineering competence and customised solutions. They can also connect to other facilities in the world and, in addition, participate in various training activities, joining over 30,000 individuals trained by Sandvik Coromant every year.

Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the Innovation Conclave 2018, Javier Guerra, President at Sandvik Coromant India, said, 'It gives me immense pleasure to announce that, in our endeavour to offer cutting-edge solutions and expertise to customers, we now have a world-class Sandvik Coromant Center in Pune. The facility will be of great service to anyone who is interested in productivity gains, cutting-edge research and the future of global manufacturing.'

During the conference, Sunil Joshi, Vice President, Digital Machining, South and East Asia, Sandvik Coromant, presented a paper on CoroPlus®,, the digital machining at Sandvik Coromant and its advantages in terms of efficient and productive output. CoroPlus®,, our offerings on digital manufacturing brings added value in all parts of the production value chain. With the possibilities given by the digital transformation of our industry, we will be able to transform our knowledge into new offerings and create additional value towards our customers. This is our concrete roadmap towards Industry 4.0 adding value to our customers value chain and 'shaping the future together'.'
