New Truck Tyres for Tough Terrains
Continental India, the Indian arm of the German tyre manufacturer, automotive supplier and industry partner, is focused on developing new and improved products catering to the Indian needs. This is validated by the introduction of their latest truck tyres in the Indian mining and On/Off segment. These products include the HDX2 for On/Off usage in their radial portfolio and Conti ML (Mining Lug) in their Bias portfolio.
One of the major focus areas of Continental is the mining sector for which the company has been developing solutions that work for both Off-road and On-road. In the mining sector in India, the roads are almost non-existent, with the trucks being driven often at high ambient temperature over sharp stones. Such scenario makes the driving conditions highly detrimental to the performance of the tyres. Continental has designed its tyres in a way that they can withstand such conditions and still perform excellently. Not only do they focus on initial tread mileage but also on casing strength and durability, so that their tyres offer higher retreadibility.
Earlier this year, during the launch of its new truck and bus radial product portfolio, Continental introduced tyres for goods, people, and construction segments. In the goods segment, the HSR2 steer tyre and the HDR2 drive tyre offer strong reliability and high mileage. For the people segment, Continental launched a dedicated coach tyre, which stands out through its smooth ride, excellent mileage and directional stability and for On/Off, the company introduced HSX2, an all-wheel tyre. HDX2, another tyre from the Continental?s radial product portfolio for the On-road and Off-road segment in drive axle, was launched this October in the International Commercial Vehicle Fair, Chennai. With better braking and grip and higher durability as compared to the competitors, HDX2 is being well accepted in the market. High tread volume and reinforced steel belt allow HDX2 to offer not only high mileage but also superior casing durability.
Continental is continuously investing in the R&D for their Bias range of truck bus tyres as well. Conti ML is a tyre dedicated completely to the mining application and can be driven off the road. Also introduced during the International Commercial Vehicle Fair in Chennai, this tyre offers higher mileage, better load carrying ability and strong casing to provide better durability.
With the new introductions in Continental?s Radial and Bias product portfolios, the company is offering a complete range of solutions to its customers. Be it the tyre that its customers need to run within their mines or the tyre they need to carry their loads to the highways, Continental believes it has the right solution for them. Continental?s slogan ?Engineered in Germany, Inspired by India? shows its commitment towards its customers and towards India. As a reliable partner, the tyre manufacturer with its footprints across the globe is working on providing sustainable, safe, durable and affordable solutions to its customers. With a comprehensive portfolio consisting of both bias and radial, Continental is already developing into the one-stop solution for its customers.
