PM Modi dedicates projects worth Rs 11,300 cr to Telangana
The Prime Minister also dedicated other railway development projects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore related to railways road connectivity and the development of health infrastructure. In a speech from Parade Ground in Hyderabad the Prime Minister emphasised the spirit of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas Sabka Prayas' saying It is the duty of the government at the Centre to realise the dreams of citizens of the state related to Telangana's development.
The projects include the laying of the foundation stone for AIIMS Bibinagar in Hyderabad the construction of five National Highways and the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station. The Prime Minister also dedicated other railway development projects. The Prime Minister also flagged off the Secunderabad Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad.
Modi stated that the Secunderabad Tirupati Vande Bharat Express will successfully connect belief modernity technology and tourism. He stated that special emphasis has been placed on ensuring that Telangana makes the most of India's development model laid out over the last nine years.
The Prime Minister mentioned the 70 km of metro network laid out in the last nine years as well as the progress made in the development of the Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System as examples of urban development. In addition to the launch of 13 MMTS services, the Prime Minister announced that Rs 600 crore has been allocated for Telangana for its expansion in the state which will benefit lakhs of citizens in Hyderabad Secunderabad and neighbouring districts while also creating jobs.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station is part of a campaign to modernise the country's major railway stations. Along with railways the Prime Minister stated that the Telangana highway network is being developed at a rapid pace and mentioned four highway projects whose foundation stone has been laid.
Modi stated that the length of National Highways in Telangana has more than doubled from 2,500 km when the state was formed in 2014 to more than 5,000 km on Saturday with the central government spending Rs 35000 crore. He went on to say that Telangana is currently working on road projects worth Rs 60000 crores including the game-changing Hyderabad Ring Road.
The Prime Minister announced that the government has decided to establish seven mega textile parks across the country one of which will be located in Telangana. He further added that it will create new employment opportunities for the youth. Referring to laying the foundation stone of AIIMS Bibinagar the Prime Minister said that the government is also investing in education and health in Telangana.
The redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station estimated to cost Rs 720 crore will include a massive makeover with world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed iconic station building. The redeveloped station would feature a double-level spacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one location as well as multimodal connectivity to allow passengers to transfer seamlessly from rail to other modes among other features.
During the programme, the Prime Minister launched 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region providing commuters with a fast convenient and comfortable mode of transportation. He also dedicated the doubling and electrification of the Secunderabad Mahabubnagar project to the nation.
