Paving Solutions
Today?s road projects require contractors to work faster, with better accuracy and with a tighter control on cost. For the paving contractor, that means no unplanned downtime, minimal material usage, and zero re-work. Top paving quality is the decisive factor for success in road construction. Customers expect perfect results ? the pavement surface, compaction and bond between layers must meet demands and ensure a long service life.

The potential market for pavers in India is quite strong and it is expected to grow by 2013. The total market for pavers is expected to touch 550 units, according to AM Muralidharan, President, Volvo CE S&M India. Volvo during Excon 2011 introduced its versatile mid-sized Volvo P6820 paver which can perform in a wide variety of applications and handle medium and large jobs. A mid-sized paver that is ideal for medium- to large-scale jobs, the P6820 has a high paving output and is designed for paving all kinds of wearing, binder and base courses of large widths and course thickness. It combines Volvo?s well-known fuel efficiency with the flexibility, high productivity, and versatility that customers in the road construction industry need to get the job done. The P6820 can pave up to 600 tonne per hour and a width of up to nine meters, making it suitable for any number of applications, including municipal and main roads, highways, airfield and railway track construction and waste storage areas. It can also handle a range of materials, from wearing course and binder course to base course and frost protection layers like CTB.

Because not all applications require full engine power, the P6820 has a smart power mode, which reduces engine RPM to match the job?s demands and can result in fuel savings of up to 30 per cent. Reserve power is always plentiful, even at maximum paving widths and with extremely large loads. Engine power is effectively transferred to the road through a combination of wide crawler tracks and excellent weight distribution.

?Paving is more an art than simple operation as there are lot of factors that determine the ultimate paving result,? says Ramesh Palagiri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He adds, ?The operator plays a major role in this and our pavers have the unique ERGOPLUS operator station concept where the entire operator station and the controls are ergonomically designed after understanding the needs of the operator. Even a not so experienced operator can easily handle the controls as they are logically placed. Visibility of the paving area and the areas of the machine in a comfortable sitting position is a major benefit. Every maintenance area is easily accessible and serviceable. Any amount of available technology contributing towards better paving results can be coupled to our machine which comes pre-equipped. We have pioneered electrical heating of the screed long ago and this area perfected over years of experience contributes greatly towards an excellent finish. Once again, the immense application expertise available with our engineers is a major factor in converting features on the machines into tangible benefits.?

?We offer high grade and multi-function series of asphalt paver for pavement of high-grade highways and municipal roads as well as for paving various stable layers. We have a wide range of pavers covering the mini, medium and high capacity. Our adopted advance technique of large conveyor, large augers, large hoppers, large thickness and intelligent distribution of hydraulic power improves working efficiency up to 30 per cent. Also, the electrical controlled Deutz engine features automatic power distribution; its economical working mode saves fuel up to 15 per cent,? says Rajesh Kawoor, Vice President (Sales & Marketing), Sany India. He further adds, "We have not yet introduced our localised products in India. We are currently offering pavers manufactured by Sany China."
