Poised for Major Expansion
Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd (BWRL), an established player in the wire ropes manufacturing sector, reached yet another milestone in its 30 year sojourn - the realisation of its new greenfield project in MIDC, Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, with a capacity of 66,000 MTPA. Made with an investment of Rs 500 crores and employing state-of-the-art machinery imported from world leaders across the globe, the new plant at Chalisgaon is one of Asia?s largest integrated wire rope manufacturing facility.
Housing the most advanced testing and R&D centres, the Chalisgaon plant is spread over a 64-acre land and would enable Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd to produce wire ropes with diameter ranging between 6 mm and 125 mm, and tensile strength up to 2,160 N/mm2. The overall production levels are expected to reach a staggering 78,000 MTPA by the end of this year. Mayank Mittal, Director of Operations, BWRL, had this to say, ?We have managed to make our Chalisgaon facility fully functional in a record time of 18 months - a feat that we at BWRL are proud of.?
The Chalisgaon plant allows Bharat Wire Ropes to augment its capabilities and extend its presence in the international market with its wide range of export-quality goods. ML Mittal, Managing Director, BWRL said, ?Our new Chalisgaon facility, we would be able to expand the repertoire of wire rope products , thus giving a boost to the Government?s Make in India program. Moreover, it would also allow us to enter into untapped overseas markets for wire ropes. Driven by a strong team equipped with years of experience, it?s just a matter of time before we begin to count ourselves amongst the top wire rope companies in the world.?
