Putzmeister Supports Vizianagaram Railway Tunnels
Putzmeister’s SPM 500 is supporting shotcreting work for the ECR Vizianagaram Railway Project in Andhra Pradesh, which involves the development of critical railway tunnels through challenging terrain.
The project requires consistent concrete application across complex tunnel geometries while addressing restricted machine movement, high rebound, material loss and productivity demands. Equipped with a Putzmeister PM1810 pumping unit, the SPM 500 delivers continuous concrete flow with minimal pulsation for uniform spraying.
Its 360-degree rotating nozzle enables precise application in intricate sections, while its extended reach reduces machine movement on site. PLC-controlled synchronisation between the dosing unit and concrete pump helps minimise rebound.
The machine is handling all four tunnels within the project, supporting faster execution, reduced wastage and dependable performance in demanding tunnel construction conditions.
