According to Rogerson the spares market in India is worth billions of dollars; and probably the most attractive market in the world. "The market is well structured in India as so many dealers and manufacturers are based here. It is a great place for TMS to save money for our customers, he says.

The availability of the goods will have been pre-checked; the time to deliver direct to the client's door will have been calculated by our logistics department. We will ensure that the goods will reach the client on time and in excellent condition."

Often, a customer tends to go for non-genuine spares either due to cost factors or the ready availability. We can supply genuine or real OEMs parts in most cases. It is something we specialise in. The customer has a greater choice with TMS than with a dealer as we can supply both, in one shipment and one PO. The challenges are to deliver across the globe into India, but this is something that we see as easily possible due to the great international infrastructure of TMS.

Speaking on the slowdown in the economy he says, "We have many markets that we can service and are starting to deal in so many countries around the world. The company has outperformed its sales and growth targets for the last four years."

Rogerson sums up, "We see it as having lots of growth; the trend will be for more construction and industry, with a large home and road-building programme. The trend will be for more forward planning of parts requirement and this will suit the TMS business model completely."
