SDLG India has announced plans to invest approximately Rs 1,500 crore in India, including future expansion and capacity building, as it looks to strengthen its manufacturing footprint and increase localisation.

As the first step in the investment plan, the company has invested Rs 300 crore in a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat. The facility will have the capacity to produce up to 3,000 units annually in a phased manner, supporting higher local manufacturing and sourcing from Indian suppliers.

SDLG India has also unveiled 10 new construction equipment products across diesel and electric excavators, wheel loaders and motor graders for the infrastructure, construction and mining sectors. The launches include diesel excavators with enhanced hydraulics, operator control and safety features, along with electric equipment for sustainable applications.

The Gujarat manufacturing plant will produce key construction equipment categories, including wheel loaders, excavators and electric vehicles (EVs). The phased development will allow SDLG India to scale production in line with market demand while strengthening its ability to serve customers through a local manufacturing base.

The expansion of SDLG India’s dealer network and associated activities is expected to support around 2,500 indirect employment opportunities in India.
