SICOMA joins UNACEA
The group of concrete equipment manufacturers in Unacea continues to grow with the new member Sicoma, a company specialised in the production and distribution of mixers for concrete and similar. On the market since 1992, the firm is part of the group Officine Meccaniche Galletti, industrial company founded in the early 70s as a continuation of the handcrafted business of the Fratelli Galletti, which celebrates this year its 70th anniversary, in order to expand the production of  its range of mixers. At present, the products of group Sicoma-Omg are found all over the world, with its factories in Italy, China and India, and sales offices in Spain, France, the US and Morocco.

?We have been manufacturing concrete mixers for more than 50 years and sold them all over the world,? said Paolo Galletti, President of the group. He added, ?Paradoxically, Italy is the most difficult market for our kind of machines, and this is because the adoption of concrete mixer technology has never spread. Instead, even today, it still prefers to load the truck mixer of dry concrete, at the expense of the construction quality. The homogeneity of the mixture obtained by forced mixing is translated into a greater strength of the concrete and into a reduced permeability of the finished product, factors that significantly increase the durability and reduce the life cycle cost. Unacea, in order to impose the scientific evidence of the superiority of the mixed concrete and to adapt the Italian building sites to what has been done for decades almost all over the world, is the only institution which is pursuing a long-standing awareness campaign on several fronts. We therefore decided to join the association to actively participate in what we consider a long overdue reform in the construction field.?
