Sandvik bags MH orders
Sandvik Mining has secured major material handling (MH) contracts in South America and Australia. The combined value of the contracts exceeds SEK950 million. The orders include design and supply of conveying systems with a total length of 8.9 km comprising of two iron ore transfer conveyors up to 28,500 tonne per hour and two waste conveyors lines each with 9,500 tonne per hour capacity for a surface mine in South America.

For Australia, the orders include design, supply and delivery of materials handling equipment for iron ore stacking at peak rates of over 11,500 tonne per hour. "The size and complexity of the systems and the impressive performance data again demonstrate Sandvik Mining's capability to provide high-tech solutions in the area of continuous mining and materials handling applications", said Gary Hughes, President of the Sandvik Mining business area.
