Schwing Stetter in tower crane market
Schwing Stetter (India) has launched the five- and six-tonne tower cranes branded Schwing-XCMG. The new cranes are from XCMG, a Chinese manufacturer of cranes and one of the largest in the world, which holds a 60 per cent stake in the Schwing Stetter holding company in Germany. So far Schwing Stetter was only in concrete handling equipment such as concrete pumps, truck-mounted mixers and batching plants. The cranes will initially be imported but will eventually, over the next year or so, be mostly manufactured locally. The five-tonne capacity tower crane is the most in demand in the domestic market, followed by the six-tonne crane.
