Shot Blasting Machines
Surface Finishing Equipment manufactures customised high production shot blasting machines for various applications.

For heavy fabricated structures: A mega shot blasting machine having a 16-wheel station has been manufactured and successfully commissioned by Surface Finishing Equipment, Jodhpur. This machine is for heavy fabricated structures of automobile industry. The job is loaded on the load bar of automatic trolleys with auto hoisting arrangement. Two trolleys are coupled through the load bar for loading of heavy structures. These loaded trolleys carry the job into the blast chamber where 16-wheel stations are located strategically at descaling angles. The job passes through the high velocity stream of abrasives thrown by the blast wheel stations resulting in a thorough single-pass cleaning the job. The cleaned job comes out from the outlet vestibule of blast cabinet. The inlet and outlet vestibules are sealed with spring steel rubber vestibule. The machine is equipped with an effective abrasive recovery and cleaning system. The blast cabinet is effectively ventilated by a powerful reverse pulse jet type of dust collector unit. The entire operation of machine is sequentially auto-managed by a PLC system. The machine is eco-friendly and conforms to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) norms.

For axle shaft: Surface Finishing Equipment has manufactured customised high production shot blasting machines for axle shaft. The machine houses a special heavy-duty chain conveyor system having special hard fixtures for loading axles transversely. The chain conveyor moves horizontally and conveys axles into the blast chamber for blasting purposes. The head of axle is blasted by two blast wheel stations positioned laterally on the wall of the blast cabinet. The axles are blasted in a single pass and come out through the outlet tunnel. The entire cabinet is lined with a manganese steel sheet for protection against abrasion. The chain drive is also protected through hard liners. The machine contains an elevator, abrasive separator, reverse pulse jet dust collector system and control panel with PLC. The entire operation of machine is meticulously programmed by PLC. The machine is user and environmental friendly and conforms to CPCB norms.

Close loop hanger type: This machine consists of a grade forged close loop conveyor system which consists of four or more chain driven trolleys with fixtures to hold the hangers. The components to be shot blasted are placed on these hangers and one by one, taken inside the blast chamber for blasting by the chain-driven mechanism. Blast wheel stations located strategically around the cabinet fires abrasives on a rotating hanger that contain components. The components are shot-blasted homogeneously all around. After the blast cleaning cycle is over, the blast wheel is shut off and the hanger is taken out for unloading of the component in a continuous process.

Inlet/outlet type: In this machine, components are located on a monorail overhead hanger of the machine. Hangers are used for proper hanging of these components. The motorised trolley enters into the inlet of the machine and reaches the work cabinet where 14 wheel stations are stationed which fire abrasives on the forward moving components. The job is squarely shot- blasted and cleaned and then taken out through outlet vestibules. Outside the outlet vestibules job enters into the blow-off chamber where two powerful blowers are located, which blows air at high velocity so that the shots lying on components are removed. Then the hangers are taken to the original positions through the motorised hoist mechanism.
