Sinoboom CEO Addresses India’s MEWP Industry
Susan Xu, Owner and Group CEO of Sinoboom, recently addressed members of the Aerial Platform Association of India during a celebratory dinner held in Bengaluru on December 11, attended by more than 150 MEWP rental companies from across the country.
Marking her first visit to India in 12 years, Susan spoke positively about the energy and optimism she observed within the access industry, highlighting the clear progress and development achieved during that period. She drew parallels between the rapid evolution of China’s access equipment sector and the current trajectory of India’s MEWP market, illustrating how quickly an industry can transform under the right conditions.
Reflecting on China’s experience, Susan recalled that in 2008 the country’s MEWP market was extremely small, with limited awareness, few machines and virtually no rental culture. Over the next 15 years, however, widespread adoption of safer working-at-height practices across infrastructure, logistics, aviation and manufacturing drove investment, improved standards and a maturing rental industry.
Turning her focus to India, Susan described the country as one of the most dynamic markets globally, supported by accelerating infrastructure development, expanding warehousing and logistics networks, and strong industrial growth. She noted that awareness of safety in working at height is also steadily increasing, creating significant opportunities for the access equipment sector.
Sinoboom, she said, is well positioned to support this growth through its comprehensive product portfolio and established sales and service presence in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. The company plans to further strengthen its footprint with the launch of a full sales, service, parts and training centre in Mumbai in the first quarter of 2026, which will serve as Sinoboom’s official headquarters in India.
